Founded by Bob and Pam Daniel, the business originally traded as Gerringong Bus Company. Our travel business organised regional coach tours and a range of geography excursions and activities for school groups on the NSW South Coast. Guidepost Travel opened its first retail travel office in Gerringong in 1982, expanding into Canberra in 1996.

In 2007, Guidepost Travel and Tours became part of the SCT Travel Group which previously specialised in corporate travel management through award winning offices in Brisbane. SCT Travel provides expert service to small, medium and large companies from its new headquarters in Gerringong as well as offices in Wollongong, Canberra and Sydney. SCT Travel has divisions specialising in Corporate Travel, Conferences and Events, retail Leisure Travel, as well as Guidepost Tours, our wholesale and group tours section.

For almost 30 years, GUIDEPOST TOURS has led discerning travellers on fantastic journeys to every corner of the globe. Our unique CELTIC INTEREST TOURS have been organised in conjunction with the Australian Genealogical Education Centre and Kiama Family History Centre. These journeys covered destinations such as Ireland, and Scotland with the Outer Isles in great depth.  GUIDEPOST CHRISTIAN HERITAGE TOURS are designed for travellers to explore, experience and strengthen their faith by seeing first hand how Christians have served in other countries. Tours visit regions such as Turkey and Asia Minor following the footsteps of Paul the Apostle, Oberammergau, Israel and the Holy Land, 'Reformation' Europe, Africa, Rome and the 'new' churches of Sabah and South East Asia.
